This is a nice lot of one (1) officer from Set No. 370b Personalities of the Madras Artillery - Troop Quartermaster, c. 1850. Nostalgia models are 54mm scale figures made in the style of old toy soldiers. Nostalgia models represent different regiments of Armies of the British Empire . Research for the figures was done by Shamus O. D. Wade of London , England . The models were created by Janet Evelyn Scroby, the eminent military sculptress. The production side was presided over by her husband, Frank Scroby. Less than 80 sets of eight (8) figures were produced .The Madras Artillery existed from 1628 to 1862. In 1628 the garrison of Armegon on the Corormandel Coast consisted of 12 guns and 28 soldiers. The men were trained as infantry and gunners. In 1690 a company of European Artillery was formed as part of the garrison of St. George.
