Up for auction is a beautiful antique Maciel Mexican solid silver (not silverplate) teapot that weighs in at a whopping 2.16 (standard) pounds, which translates to a massive 31.5 troy ounces of silver . The Maciel Silver Factory hallmark is crystal clear, as is the numbering "900/1000" referring to the fact that this is what is known as "coin silver" or "one nine" fine. /wiki/Millesimal_fineness This vintage piece is in truly excellent condition as you can see by the detailed photos, with no significant dings or major defects. One of the two rings on the handle is missing, however (not sure of this material...looks like an ivory type material..). Due to this, the handle is slightly wobbly but nevertheless retains all of its structural strength. This teapot was originally part of a larger service that unfortunately has since been separated. I am unsure on the date of the piece, so it could be pre-1940 (the big Art Deco sweeping handle certainly suggests it). The piece is gorgeous. Look at the detailed photos carefully. And, it is a nice way to make a sizable silver investment in one swoop as well. Flat rate shipping to USA or Canada. Low reserve considering the current silver futures quotation on the NYMEX /index.aspx Thanks for looking and bidding!
