STUNNING, VINTAGE STERLING SILVER SOMBRERO MANUFACTURED BY THE WELL KNOWN MACIEL SILVER FACTORY OF MEXICO CITY Up for offer is a sterling sombrero etched with remarkable expertise with floral sprays and leaves on the base or rim and an eagle in flight with wings spread on the hat crown. The eagle is holding a snake in its beak. There is a twisted rope decoration on the top of the rim and around the base of the eagle. The Maciel Silver Factory (1930-1970) produced the sombrero around 1948. They were well-known for their holloware, limited line of flatware and jewelry. This sterling silver sombrero is a superlative quality of work created by the prestigious Maciel silversmith. Measurements: 4 1/2" by 2" Weight: 86.9 grams!!!!
